Tell us a little about your brand and your journey so far.

We are an internationally acclaimed food business that specializes in Nigerian and continental cuisine. We have been in operation for six years, although our business was officially registered in 2014. Running the business has been an exciting journey, with ups and downs, but it is my passion and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What inspired you to go into carering?

I’m passionate about anything that has to do with food, so I decided to turn my passion into a business.

What do you love the most about what you do?

Putting a smile on people’s faces after satisfying their palate.

Do you cook all cultural menus or do you have an area of expertise?

We cook all cultural menus.

Interviewer: Does that mean that you can prepare food for a Hausa wedding?

Fara: I believe that we can. [Chuckles]

Who are the people in your industry that inspire you and why?

CWC
Foodcrush catering
Sauce factory

Why: I like their food presentation, it is always beautiful and appealing.

What are some of the challenges you face as a caterer in the Nigerian Wedding industry?

Honesty, clients not being straightforward with the numbers of expected guests.
Pricing: Market prices are always fluctuating making it hard to make a good profit.

What do you think your unique selling point is?

Admirable Customer service, the taste and the quality of our food.

Do you have any catering packages for couples getting married in 2023?

Yes, we do. Contact us for our mouth-watering catering packages for your special events.

Greatest catering moment so far?

This is difficult for me, because all my catering moments have been amazing, irrespective of how big or small they are.

How do you handle any issues that may arise during a wedding or event?

It depends on the specific problem at hand. Can we clarify the issue? For example, if one of my employees is mistreated or disrespected because they were following my instructions and a new instruction was given, I would speak with the person responsible or bring it to the attention of my client to prevent a chaotic event. If I am at fault for the issue, I would take responsibility, apologize, and explain how it will be resolved.

2. How do you ensure that the food is fresh and of high quality on the day of the wedding?

2. All our ingredients are sourced freshly and with the highest level of quality imaginable. This helps ensure that the food is fresh and stays fresh..to keep it hot at the venue, we also use insulated warmers and also burners to help maintain the hotness.

What steps do you take to ensure that the serving of food at your events runs seamlessly?

First by ensuring that the number of waiters is enough for the number of guesgs. I think the number one issue is not bringing enough professional waiters, but once you have the right number of waiters and these waiters understand their job description, the rest is easy peasy.

We also have a designated team supervisor whose sole duty is to make sure that the event runs smoothly per adventure and we sometimes have to work with the hostesses at the event, to help guide us as well. Event success is a team work and it cannot be achieved if all parties do not understand or carry out their job descriptions properly.

Describe yourself in one word

I’m talented, resilient and focused.

Interviewer: That’s 3 words, but we’ll take it. [Chuckles]

Your industry is mostly female dominated, why do you think this is so?

I think because most women are great cooks… [laughs]

Is there anything else you would like to add or share with couples considering hiring you as their wedding caterer?

Yes, I would like them to know that they can expect nothing but the best from us on their big day.
